Update time! Well, there isn't much to update on...but let's see what we can come up with.
I would like to take this time to tell you all a little tale about my first Archaeology Discussion Section. It is once a week on Thursday afternoons in Young Hall. Now, prior to this class, I had never been into Young Hall. So I open the door and layed out in front of me is a dark, empty, creepy hallway. Never-ending, with tons of doors but no one in sight. Oh, did I mention it was SCORCHING HOT? Like someone had turned the heater as high as it could go. (This detail will be more relevant later). I realized that my room was on the 3rd floor, and fearing that I would get a sunburn, I bounded up the steps and away from the creepy hallway. Upon landing on the Second Floor, things didn't get much better. Another totally empty insane-asylum hallway lay before me; except this one was FREEZING COLD. I'm talking meat locker. Umm...what the frup? How can one building have two polar opposite weather conditions?! At this point I was getting a little freaked out so I started to power walk in search of the third stairwell. The creepiest thing, was that as I walked by each door, they were all wide open and with nobody int hem. When I peaked in the first door I saw skulls layed out on the table. The second door I peaked in had old weathered knives scattered on the table. The third door had a full-blown, full-sized animal skeleton. I mean I get this is Archaeology, but really? Thats just creepy. But still nobody in sight. At this point, the infamous "Psycho" theme song started to slowly cresendo in my mind as my pace got faster and faster. I finally found the staircase and made my why into my classroom. I walked in, sat down, and saw that everyone, including the TA, was just looking at me. No one was talking, no one was rummaging around, just complete silence. I wasn't sure if I was in the wrong classroom, but there was no way I was going to spend another minute wandering the halls of Young Hall, so I sat and stared like the rest of them. That was how the class continued for the next 4 minutes; complete silence, heads straight ahead, until exactly 4:10pm when the class started. It was very strange and I kind of don't want to go back.
So goes my first experience in the frightening-fun-house-climate-changing Young Hall.
In other news, I fell right to sleep last night for the first time in weeks. Why you may ask? I bought earplugs. Best 33 cent investment of my life. I love my roommate, but her snoring....I just can't handle. Bless her heart, but its unbearable. Speaking of roomies, mine will BOTH be going home this weekend, so I will be an empty-nester. I want to go home this weekend!! Wahhhhhhhh-okay I'm done. I will have company tomorrow, however, as two of my lovely friends from Berkely are coming to visit. Maybe I will have to take them on a little trip to Young Hall so they can experience it for themselves...
