Long time no post! (jk, its been like 2 days). I have been a little busy celebrating a little something that happened on October 5th...my birthday!

Despite my prior fears, people DID know it was my birthday! Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I obnoxiously updated countdowns on my neighbors' whiteboards...hey, gotta spread the word!

I came back from class to find my whole room covered with balloons from my sweet neighbor, ate way too many DELICIOUS ginger cookies made by my Omi (my whole floor also thanks you), and sent in my voting registration!  Oh, and I spent my day at a tattoo parlor...getting an ear piercing.  A friend and I biked downtown & I felt like an official adult when the piercer asked for my ID and I could proudly present it to her.  Although she did notice that it was my birthday....so what if I had only been 18 for a few hours?  Let me have my fun, lady!

That night a group of us drove to dinner in Davis where a homeless man sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and went to froyo.  I ended my night staying up wayyy to late, and you guessed it; eating more ginger cookies.

But the festivities did not end there, folks!  Yesterday the parentals picked me up and surprised me with my bestest friend!!! I can't believe I forgot to put her on my Birthday List! They also brought more baked goods, which I am enjoying more than I should.  We had a lovely dinner at the newlyweds new home; quite a feat, as they were fresh off the boat! (Quite literally).  It was a splendid way to end my birthday weekend.

...And now back to reality.  Reality hit me in the form of a 9am class this morning....happy happy joy joy.  Thank you to all who made me feel so loved on my 18th!  Now that the birthday has concluded, let the countdown to Christmas begin!
