Well, I think I have had my first all-around-wake-up-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-bed-nothing-works-out type of days since being in college. Nothing too life-altering, but little things in conjunction with this bloody HEAT is making me one unhappy camper today. Allow me to vent for the following minute;
-People; PLEASE re-enter planet Earth and LOOK AROUND when you are biking!! I know we are all focused on getting to class but I beg of you, just open your eyes and look to the right and left of you at an intersections, its not that difficult! Coming from the student who had one too many close collisions today, it would be greatly appreciated.
-Campus policemen; I get that the crime rate is low and that you have nothing else to do with your time, but standing with your arms crossed at intersections just so you can repremand dumb Freshman is NOT a good use of your time! Forgive me, I thought the bike lanes were for us bikers. No need to yell at me when I'm turning left (in the bike lane, mind you!) and telling me I need to be in the street to do so.
-Cashier at the book-return counter; please snap out of your grumpy pants attitude. Yes, your job sucks and I am sorry for your predicament, but no need to take it out on ME. And please post more clearly that I need a "detailed student schedule" that proves I dropped a class so you can give me a refund for my book. Boohoo, you lost $45 on a book I returned...but making me go all the way back to my dorm to print out a schedule doesn't give me much sympathy for your depressing career.
-Professor; Fine, tell me that Evolution is a scientific fact all you want, but DO NOT mock the bible and its teachings. You should know that I never wanted to be in your class in the first place, so don't make it any more painful for me than it already is.
-Other Professor; The reason Christians don't encourage gay marriage is NOT because we think "if everyone's gay then we're all going to hell". In fact, that statement actually makes zero sense...and I thought you had a PhD...?
-Student Store; I (my parents) are not paying $30,000 a year for you to NOT have the book I need in stock, and then to not believe that Art History is a class when I ask to order its textbook. Seriously.
....I guess you could say its been a rough morning. Its only 3:00pm.
I apologize for anyone I offended in this post. I just needed to vent, badly. Now I'm going to walk down my hall and see if someone will give me a hug.
Here's to the rest of my day being 100x better than the morning...
